Every interaction that you have with another life is an opportunity to touch upon this kindness within yourself, to reinforce this worldview that betters this place, and brings forth love and reverence for all.

The Earth is heating, our climate is changing, and it is our responsibility to do something about it, to become the enlightened humans that life and providence require of us.

Power to the people; those who have been marginalized (or worse), may they find we have made for them a more equitable world, a more just world, one fit for us all.

Hello, I’m James, and this is my website.
It’s as much a business enterprise as it is a place for my art, for my ideas, stories, poetry, for my thoughts on politics, flowers, the politics of flowers, et al. —whatever it is that I wish to show, or feel compelled to share, if something moves or provokes me, it is here that I will post it.
For instance, a photo of a beautiful flower?
Or, how about a nice somber song that I’ve heard, only recently, one that pulled at my heart strings, some?
That’s the ticket. Mmm, two, what a treat.
Music is something special, something special for special animals, for we, the beings steeped in meaning, made of meaning, our faces red, flush with it.
And when we close our eyes at night, even then, we find ourselves falling into endless oceans of it. Waking to find it all having sublimated, replaced by a world just as meaningful, fantastical, and amazing as our dreams, but, save for what beauty confronts us, this waking life appears to us not as the magic that it is, but as the mundane, as the routine in which we have grown, and to which we have grown accustomed.
As with art, I like all sorts of music (a reprieve from the ordinary), whatever music has the greatest effect on the mind, on that which one calls the soul, the depth of oneself, whatever breathes life into the organ of our cathedrals, these temples of flesh, thought, and bone we call our bodies.
Over the course of the life of this website, the breadth, as well as the blind spots of my taste(s) should make themselves known.
Please, for the sake of the hair on my arms, those which would, if they could, yearn to stand on end, and to tug at my flesh, to remind me that I am here to be moved, and to move others so; should you have beautiful, moving music, energetic music, fun music, or art, prose, whatever it may be, do not hesitate to send me an email, and to let me know what it is that my ears, that my beating, moving, chest-bound heart is missing.
Insofar as I value kindness, honesty, flowers, people, and the future of humanity —I am super lame, yes.
So, if you are super lame, also, then, perhaps you will like this place. And, if you are not, then, well, that’s pretty cool, too.
Nevertheless, all things considered, everything being equal —all things are possible.
Is it possible to move a train through the eye of a needle? Although it would be a great waste of time and resources (well, save for the thoughts of the model train + giant needle communities), yes, I do believe humanity has the ability to do that, and to do just about anything.
Tout est possible, it is possible, all is possible —yes, everything is possible.
Is it possible for us to sit back, and to let the world become less, rather than more? It is possible.
Is it, too, possible for humanity to read the writing on the wall, and to act in accordance with good and useful values, those grounded in science, in informed, enlightened democracy? Is it possible to turn away from the precipice, and to set a course, instead, for the stars, for the future, itself?
With confidence, I can say, yes, it is at once a possibility, as well as our destiny to do so; it’s the sort of manifest destiny that leads not to bloodshed, nor to the annexation of the land of others, but, to human flourishing, and, consequently, to the flourishing of life, of all life, more generally.
And this, my friends, is that for which my heart beats; this is what, beyond and besides art, I care most about. To love, to live as one who loves, and to shape the world, ever so slightly, else dramatically, such that it trends toward the good, toward the beautiful, toward a future for which we can be proud.
Finally, because serious websites have charts, here’s a serious website chart.
Gosh, I hope my website has enough charts.
Thanks for stopping by.
James
